Essential Oils for Drainage

Enhance your wellbeing with the detox support kit from vibrant blue oils – your natural solution for body balance and cleansing.

I believe this is the most important thing we need to do to heal and most people are not aware of it.

There are many remedies, including diet, supplements and essential oils that help mobilize toxins from the body.  The problem is that these mobilized toxins often recirculate instead of leaving the body.  This creates other problems.

Essential oils are powerful tools to ensure that TOXINS ACTUALLY LEAVE THE BODY!

As I share in the video above, toxins leave your body by first leaving the cell, traveling into the lymphatic system where they travel into the blood, through the liver, into the gallbladder, into the gut, and into the toilet.

If a toxin follows this route, it will leave your body. If there is any congestion in these drainage routes, the toxins can back up and flow back into your bloodstream.  The blood cannot carry these toxins so they are instead pushed out through other detoxification pathways – your skin and your kidneys.

When toxins are eliminated through the skin, they present as blemishes, scabs, rashes or feel dry and itchy.  Brown spots on your skin, known as liver spots, are aptly named. When your liver is unable to process toxins, they are released through the skin, your largest organ.

When your kidneys overwork, you experience symptoms like low back pain, the need to urinate more frequently, puffiness around your eyes or swollen feet and ankles.

Essential Oils for Drainage

Essential oils help keep plants healthy by moving vital fluids and energy.  They perform similar functions in your body, helping to move energy and prevent stagnation.  When your liver becomes stagnant, from physical toxins, stress or anxiety, it impedes detoxification.  Essential oils are a powerful tool to help shift stagnation and improve flow of energy and toxins through the liver and the gall bladder.

Essential oils can help shift your body into alignment so toxins do not backlog back into your bloodstream, but flow out of your body. More specifically, topically applying essential oils to specific points on your skin can activate energy flow directly and quickly, stimulating your liver and gall bladder to help toxins flow out of the body instead of back into the bloodstream.

My Favorite Essential Oils for Drainage

I want to share the oils that I use to really help open those drainage pathways so that you can start to offload your toxins and feel better.  I personally use these oils every day.  I apply the Parasympathetic® when I wake up in the morning and at least three times a day. I also apply Lymph™ first thing in the morning and then at least one time in the afternoon. You can also do it three times a day.  My other two favorites are the Liver™ and Gallbladder™.

Parasympathetic®

Parasympathetic® switches your body into the right gear. Think of it if you’re riding a bike in high gear and then you hit a really steep hill; you want to downshift so that you’re in the right gear so that it’s easier to climb up the hill. So by applying the Parasympathetic® blend right behind the earlobe on the mastoid bone, what you’re doing is you’re helping to shift your body into that rest and digest state where it can slow down and start to actually mobilize toxins. So that’s the first step.

Parasympathetic® blend also helps you support your liver’s ability to transform toxic molecules into less toxic ones and help your body eliminate them.  Research shows that the limonene found in citrus essential oils, like Lime in the Parasympathetic® blend, can stimulate the production of glutathione, a key component of healthy detoxification.

Lymph™

The lymphatic system needs to be functioning optimally in order for toxins to leave the cells and the body.  Congested or stagnant lymphatic movement can impede toxins from draining and leaving the system.  To enhance lymphatic flow and drainage, generously apply Lymph™ around the sides of the neck, under the arm pits and along the bikini line.  Lymph flows more heavily down the left side of the body and can get congested around the left clavicle, so it is good to apply the Lymph™ blend right on the left clavicle bone.  If you think about what oils do in plants, they help to move fluid through the plant so that the water gets from the roots up to the leaves, which can be hundreds of feet in the air. That’s what the Lymph™ oil is helping you do. It’s helping you move things.

You can read more about lymph flow and moving lymph with essential oils HERE and HERE.

Liver™

The liver eliminates toxins and their metabolites into the bile, and out of the body via the stool.  If your liver is overwhelmed, it cannot keep up with the toxic load and toxins do not move into the bile and leave the body. Instead they get flushed back into your blood stream, contributing to systemic toxicity and inflammation. Formulated with oils that help stimulate, strengthen, and tone the liver, including German Chamomile, which stimulates bile secretions and supports liver detox.  Liver™ blends helps boost the energy of your liver so you it can perform its numerous functions with optimal vitality.

Apply Liver™ directly over the liver (right side beneath the breast) 2-3 times daily.  You can also combine Liver™ blend with castor oil – just add 3 drops of Liver™ to 1 tsp of castor oil and rub it over the liver before bed.  Castor oil is notoriously messy, so you can either: (1) cover it with a piece of flannel and plastic wrap and apply heat from a hot water bottle (avoid the electricity of heating pads) for 20-30 minutes,  (2) wear a ratty t-shirt and let your body eat work it’s magic (3) climb into an Epsom salt bath with the castor oil and Liver™ oil and benefit from layering 3 healing strategies at the same time.  Read More about Detoxifying your Liver HERE.

Gallbladder™

Your gallbladder is responsible for storing, releasing, and concentrating bile which helps carry toxins and old hormones out of the body. When your bile becomes too viscous, it doesn’t flow as well and toxins don’t move out of the system and often get reabsorbed.  If bile is not properly flowing, toxins are not eliminated from the body.

Essential oils can turn on bile flow so it is not blocked.  To support the optimal flow and directionality of bile and allow toxins to flow out of the body, apply 2-3 drops of Gallbladder™ underneath the ribs at the gall bladder (right side, underneath the ribs.  If you lean forward, it is easier to apply under the ribs). Essential oils such as clove, contained in Parasympathetic® blend also stimulates bile flow and is antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory.

You can apply both  Liver™ and Gallbladder™ directly over your organs.  I like to apply both blends before bed because the liver and the gallbladder are the most active in the middle of the night while you’re sleeping. You can combine Castor oil, which is pretty affordable, is a really good anti-inflammatory. You can also do it when you first wake up in the day and throughout the day.

In addition to those drainage blends, I also recommend taking a binder.

Binders

When we detoxify, we need to make sure that the toxins are not only mobilized, but actually leave the body.  In order to leave the body, toxins travel through the liver, where they travel to the small intestine in the bile.  If the toxins are not bound to anything, most of them will get reabsorbed in the gut.

Binders are substances that ‘bind’ to toxins to help move them out of the body.  They work by attracting or trapping toxins, and transporting them out of the body.  You can read more about binders HERE.

Binders can contribute to constipation, so combining Parasympathetic® blend with binders can help keep you regular.
