My kids are at camp this week so I have finally found time to tackle all the delayed maintenance in my life. Cleaning out the clothes that no longer fit, the toys we no longer use, the food that has passed its expiration date in the pantry. Fixing all the little things in the house that needed repair that I never felt like l had time to tackle in the midst of juggling the kids, the dog, the business and the non-stop activities. With that, I realized that I needed to reduce some of the stress in my life. In this post, you will learn how I reduce stress with Essential Oils.
Reduce Stress with Essential Oils
I don’t think I realized how much stress all these things I never seemed to have time to accomplish have caused me. The perpetual unchecked boxes on my never ending to-do lists. The ones I carry over from month to month. They have been a huge source of undetected stress and taking care of them seems to free up energy I didn’t even realize I was depleting.
You see, stresses are additive and cumulative, so clearing the small ones – the low hanging fruit so to speak – can free up more time and energy for the things you enjoy in your life.
It can also help motivate you to take on the bigger challenges. Malcolm Gladwell describes this phenomena as “the broken window theory” in his book The Tipping Point. Gladwell notes that broken windows on a block send the message that no one cares about a particular street and people then litter or otherwise disrespect the street. When the broken windows are fixed, a gradual effort is made to clean up the rest of the block.

I believe a parallel can be drawn with the way we treat ourselves and our bodies. When we begin to invest in our health by taking the time to prepare and digest our food in the optimal Parasympathetic® “rest and digest state” or return to our natural Circadian Rhythms™ by prioritizing restful sleep, our bodies begin to clean themselves up and return to balance.
As a single, working mother of two very busy children and a new puppy, I have complete empathy for the fact that it is really hard to get to everything on the to do list.
But I also recognize that you can steal 10 – 15 minutes every day to slowly chip away at those small stress that when removed can free you up to heal. It is with this in mind that I have created the FREE 7 Day Stress Support Challenge, including 7 days of easy to implement stress support tips. To sign up, just click here.
I hope this inspires you to tackle some of the small stressors in your life.
