Balance the Body with Essential Oils
I had heard that when a plane flies from point A to point B, it does not set a direct course, but a small series of constant adjustments to get back on track. I believe the body works the same way, constantly adjusting back into balance.
It is not dissimilar to how we are able to stay in the appropriate lane when driving. When we veer too far out of our lane, we notice and make a small adjustment to return to center. Right?
Now imagine that we are driving with impaired visibility, like during an intense rain storm or with a dirty windshield, so we can’t really see out and determine what lane we are even in. We are almost driving blindly which can be dangerous and a recipe for a potential accident.
The same thing can be true in our body. Our proverbial windshield gets muddied with sugar or carbohydrate cravings to feed our fatigue or dysbiosis or food intolerances that give us a kick because the inflammation triggers a stress response and cortisol kick that can feel good to us.
Our bodies can get stuck in a cycle of responding to cravings and stressors, which in turn distracts us from our innate intelligence or intuition. It’s a bit like trying to engage in a meaningful conversation during a rock concert. There is too much outside noise to really hear the other person. When our body is constantly responding to external and internal stressors, we cannot hear our innate intelligence.
So how do we clean our internal windshield and turn down the volume on the external stressors?
It can start with one small change.
Stressors are additive and cumulative, so removing even a small one can be a great step toward lightening the load. So pick the low hanging fruit.
- Clean out your purse or your car so it is easier to find things that you need.
- Organize a drawer that you use often.
