4 Energy Boosting Essential Oils

We recently returned from Europe and got a new puppy.  Sounds fun, right?

Yes and No.  Love our new puppy and international travel, but the combination of jet lag and night waking to let the puppy out nearly killed me.   I felt exhausted and brain dead 24/7.

As you know, I am a huge proponent of restful sleep for health.  I am also a realist who recognizes that there are times when life, work and relationship commitments make sleep more elusive. But you still need to function, right?

When my energy needs a little boost, these 4 energy boosting Essential Oils blends are my top choices:


Energy Boosting Essential Oils


Energize™:  This blend was formulated to improve our vitality and reduce fatigue.  It helps you to feel energetic throughout the day, especially when you are mentally, physically, or spiritually exhausted. Energize™ supports the adrenal glands as a stimulant to increase energy.  It can also  be soothing for anxiety and stress related complaints. Apply 1- 2 drops on temples or over the heart for a quick pick me up.

Adrenal®:  This blend helps to address the underlying causes of fatigue which often relate to depleted adrenal glands.  Chronic stress depletes the adrenal glands. The adrenals were designed to deal with stress in small spurts rather than in periods of days or months (or even years). Chronic stress overworks the adrenal gland to the point of exhaustion and eventually they become too fatigued to meet the needs of the body. Symptoms of exhausted adrenals include fatigue, sugar or salt cravings, low blood sugar, a history of low blood pressure, skin rashes, allergies, poor sleep, depression and anxiety.  Unlike adrenal stimulants, this blend is designed to balance and heal the adrenals.  To use, either smell or topically apply 1- 2 drops on the adrenal glands (on the lower mid-back, one fist above the 12th rib on each side).

Lymph™:  Helping the lymph system to flow helps to move energy through the body and keep us awake. It includes several oils that help to boost energy.  For example, Spearmint helps stimulate blood circulation which increases energy. Palmarosa helps stimulate cellular regeneration and support nervous exhaustion morning fatigue, and basic irritability and Ylang Ylang helps relieve mental fatigue  Apply 2- 3 drops each to sides of neck, lymph nodes under arms and around inguinal ligament (bikini line area – think where your leg creases when you lift it).  Lymph blend is designed for liberal usage.  For Aromatic Usage, hold the bottle under nose for 3 or 4 breaths.

Focus™ is my go to blend for mental energy.  In addition to sharpening mental alertness, it seems to wake me up and keep me awake.  The blend includes a lot of powerful oils to support energy.  For example, Rosemary helps relieve nervous exhaustion and chronic fatigue syndrome. Peppermint™ helps support chronic fatigue syndrome, fatigue and nervous stress.  Basil and Cardamom relieve intellectual fatigue. Apply 1- 2 drops across brow, back of neck, collar bone or on temples and wrists.


While these oils are wonderful for boosting your energy, you cannot continue to deficit spend with sleep forever.  At a certain point the body just hits its limit and function becomes impaired.  With that said, also try to support restful sleep.  For more information on restful sleep, click here.
