The responsible and knowledgeable use of essential oils during pregnancy poses no risk to mom or baby. When used properly, essential oils are very safe for use during pregnancy and can help support the physical, mental and emotional challenges that occur during pregnancy.
Avoid Internal Consumption – Some essential oils can be toxic to the baby if ingested. It is important not to ingest ANY essential oils while you are pregnant.
Less Is More – Heavily dilute essential oils with a carrier oil (such as coconut or olive oil) during pregnancy. We recommend a dilution of under 1% (6 drops essential oil per 1 oz. of carrier oil). This goes for the diffuser as well. Try to limit it to short intervals.
Use Conservatively – Intense daily use is not recommended. Try to just use the oils when you really need them.
NOTE: Use recommended essential oils via inhalation at very low amounts, or heavily diluted, when applied topically.
